If you want to host a Minecraft server on your own computer, you must 'port forward' your router to allow outside connections.
How to Port Forward (Port 25565)
1. Log into your router's admin panel (usually192.168.1.1).
2. Find the Port Forwarding* or *Virtual Server section.
3. Add a new rule.
4. Set the internal IP to your computer's local IPv4 address.
5. Set the Port Range to 25565 for both TCP and UDP.
6. Save and restart your router.
